PTM Lublin is the main organizer of the competition. The competition is run by the Organizing Committee which has the right to appoint the jury of the contest - the International Competition Committee.
The main goals of the competition:
The main aim is to stir the economic and civil activities of East Europe regions by promoting and documenting of the regional infrastructure, building and architecture development. This will contribute to buildings’ quality and aesthetics improvement as well as restoring the previous beauty in order to preserve the Europe’s cultural heritage:
- Implementation of the pro-development housing policy on the area of European eastern border regions .The creative usage of the architects, constructors and engineer- technical team ‘s knowledge of modern technologies and building materials will be of great importance.
- The improvement of the quality development area, introducing new thoughts as for the urban order shaping
- Architecture importance promotion and initiatives in building recourses renovation
- Improvement in standard of housing industry objects but retaining the antique development – important for the cultural and historical heritage.
- Supporting the initiatives in aid of monuments’ revitalization, modernization and adaptation to the contemporary needs
- Selecting the object which distinguish as for the architecture and functionality and praising the contractors( developer, investor, designing studio, contractor
- Improving the image and competitiveness of the European Union eastern border regions.
Each edition of the competition focuses on the countries and regions’ development on both sides of the eastern borders of the EU. International and interregional formula reflects the character and ideas of the European Community, aims to extend its borders from Scandinavia to the Balkans. The governmental and local authorities as well as representatives of building administration, environmental protection, technical universities, industry organizations and associations are among the Competition’s partners. This partnership is based on mutual exchange of knowledge and experience not only in architecture, construction, urban planning, but also in the protection of the environmental and cultural heritage.
More than 1000 building investments, in the regions of Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania or Slovakia, took part in the past 20 editions .In Crystal Brick Award competed both new and modernized facilities of diversified financial outlay and representing a wide range of categories - from small culture and sport local centers, to big residential and commercial, hotels, spas, sacred objects or academic, scientific and technological parks or shopping malls.
Every year the Competition Committee faces a huge challenge. The organizers of the competition assess the EU’s eastern border’s pearls of architecture not only in terms of values, originality or architectural solutions, but also with reference to environment-friendly influence and social, cultural and national values.
The organizers of the competition want to promote the best investments as well as the best practice in the construction industry including the environment. It should be noted that, in accordance with the idea of the competition all major partners of the construction process are awarded - the investor, designer and contractor.
For years the Competition has become the biggest review of architectural and engineering achievements and restoration investments in Eastern Europe. In the building environment the Crystal Brick is considered to be a prestigious trophy of appreciation and a special form of recommendation.
Participation in the competition is an excellent way to present the achievements, as well as positive image what consequently increases the credibility and strengthens the market position.
The Ceremony of presenting the winners of XXI edition will take place during the Final Gala in Lublin in December 2021.
We are also happy to inform that the competition will be promoted in the local, domestic and foreign media.
The XX edition of the Final Gala took place in the Congress Center of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. Over 500 guests including ambassadors, consuls and other representatives of Government of the Polish, Ukraine and Belarus took part in that event. The investor - construction industry including the heads of well-known design studios, development agencies, major companies and corporations also participated in this occasion.
